Chez Who?

There’s something almost comforting about returning to a blogspace. I never thought I’d say that, but I really do enjoy the ritual of publishing irrelevant – and sometimes irreverent – details in the online abyss. For my 3.6 readers over at the far less technically amusing blogspot site, I’ve moved from India to Seattle. I’ve also taken the plunge and now cohabitate with my special gentleman friend (for privacy’s sake, let’s call him Gene) and his phenomenal hound, Maddie.

When Gene and I were talking about moving in together, he said he didn’t want it to be “his house,” that it should be “our house.” When I told him that might take some getting used to, he laughed and suggested that it be “Maddie’s house” instead. And so, calling upon my limited French language skills, I now reside chez Maddie (“with Maddie” or “at Maddie’s place”). It’s a good place to be.

I hope this blog will maintain an emphasis on Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. I’d like for it to be a sort of unofficial reference for others moving to Seattle, or for current residents looking to find new places, activities and ideas.
